AT Service Provider Grant and Trail Equipment Program
The One Percent Club and SAWC will award one annual $250.00 grant in order to support hostels and Service Providers on the Appalachian Trail. This grant is designed for low cost hostels and AT Service Providers who go above and beyond in order to support the traditional long distance hiking experience and the preservation of the Appalachian Trail. An annual award of trail maintenance tools will also be presented to one hostel or service provider who has demonstrated a true interest in trail maintenance on the Appalachian Trail. The deadline for all applications is 1 March 2021, and the grant and tools will be announced and awarded on 1 May 2021. Baltimore Jack Memorial Scholarship
In memory of friend, fellow trail maintainer, and original 1%'er, the One Percent Club and SAWC has established the "Baltimore Jack" Memorial Scholarship for Long Distance Hikers. The One Percent Club and SAWC will award an annual $250.00 cash scholarship to one current year Northbound Thru-Hiker, and one Southbound Thru-Hiker on the Appalachian Trail. The Baltimore Jack Scholarship is based on immediate need and is designed to help a legitimate AT Thru-Hiker finish their hike; therefore this cash award will be distributed on a rolling basis at the end of the current year hiking season for Northbound and Southbound hikers.
